The sharing economy is any economic activity through a digital platform (such as a website or an app) where people share assets or services for a fee. Popular sharing economy activities include: providing ride-sharing (sometimes also known as ride-sourcing) services for a fare, through platforms such as Uber, Zoomy or Ola. providing short-stay accommodation including renting out a room or a whole house or unit, through platforms such as Airbnb, Bookabach or Holiday Houses. sharing assets, including cars, caravans/RVs, car parking spaces, storage space or personal belongings, through platforms such as Yourdrive, Mighway, Parkable, MyCarYourRental and Sharedspace. providing personal services, including creative or professional services like graphic design, creating websites, or odd jobs like deliveries and furniture assembly, through platforms such Pocket Jobs, Fiverr, Air Tasker, WeDo, Askatasker, Deliveroo and Mad Paws. • Can I work for others while working through Wofo?
Yes. Many of our users are employed elsewhere or use other agencies.
  • Are there minimum hours I need to work?
No. You are not obligated to accept any shifts offered to you.
  • How much does it pay?
It depends. As a contractor, you set your rate! this creates micro labour markets and lets supply and demand determine the best rate for each shift. Typically these rates are higher than you might expect as an employee or through an agency. Obviously, lower rates are more attractive to the facilities so you are more likely to pick up shifts at lower rates. For more advise on rates you can contact us.
  • What if I can't complete my shift?
We understand the world isn't perfect. If you need to leave your shift for perfectly reasonable reasons, and you inform Wofo and the facility you are leaving, then we should be able to pay the hours you have worked on the contracted shift. We do reserve the right, if you abandon the contracted shift and don't complete it, to withhold the payment.
  • Do I have to register for GST to be able to accept work?
No. You are able to accept jobs and earn money on the platform without registering for GST. However, If you're providing personal services through a digital platform such as Wofo, you must register for GST if you earn more than $60,000 from all taxable activities including providing personal services in any 12-month period. If you’re already GST-registered, you can select that option in your App profile. Also, If you're GST-registered, you can claim GST for expenses related to your business.
  • How do I earn money on the platform?
Once your profile is set up on the system you will be visible to facilities with your set catchment area. You may then get offers to work certain shifts which you can accept or decline through the platform. Once a shift is completed, you will see it in your earnings tab on the platform which means it is available to be paid on the next pay cycle. Currently, Contractors are paid on Wednesday for shifts completed the prior week (Monday-Sunday).
  • How often am I paid?
Contractor payouts are made every Wednesday and include any shifts worked the previous Monday to Sunday.
  • Do you do any background checks on the contractors?
Yes. Contractors who sign up to the app are subject to MOJ checks and verification of any qualifications. The performance of each contractor is also recorded as they go to create a live reference rating.
  • What is the managed service?
We do things a little differently. As a share economy platform, the methodology of booking staff is different from your typical nursing bureaus. We understand it can often be easier to pick up a phone or send an e-mail or booking form because that's what you are used to. This is why we offer the managed service to give the feel of a traditional agency and also allow payment terms. With the managed service, we still use the share economy system but offer a booking agent to manage the bookings and invoice on behalf of the contractors each week.
  • What are the fees?
Most of our clients use the managed service which costs 10% of the contractor fees.
  • Can I change a booking?
Yes. You can cancel a booking at anytime prior to it being accepted with no costs. Once the booking has been accepted, you can still cancel up until the shift start time however the Wofo fee remains payable. Once the shift has started, the full cost of the shift remains payable upon cancelation.
  • What is your Covid-19 policy?
We follow the latest goverment policies to ensure our facilities and contractors are kept safe. Plus, with each facility having it's own risks and risk tolerances we work directly with each facility to integrate testing and reporting procedures as required.
  • Can I hire someone from the platform?
Yes. If you like a Wofo Medstaff contractor so much that you want to offer them full or part-time employment just let us know. If the contractor accepts employment with you, we charge a nominal fee of $990. You should be aware that in this instance any 90 day trail legislation is likely voided so we recommend to not rush into this.
  • What is the shift fulfilment rate?
We currently fill 98.6% of shifts requested through our managed service.
  • Do you have Registered nurses on the platform?
Yes. We have RN's, HCA's, Kitchen staff and cleaners.
  • How it works? (reserve, assign, accept)
Once you’re active you’ll be able to access your “Upcoming Bookings” page (you can find it under “My Account” in the menu bar). Whenever we have shifts available we’ll send you a text where you reserve any shifts you want and they'll appear in your bookings page. After a short amount of time our team will assign you the booking. Find it and select “Manage Booking“ where can then see more about the shift (including the pay rate!) and if you’re happy you must accept it. When you start you need to "Clock In" (in the same way you accepted the booking), when you finish you "Clock Out" and then you get paid!
  • With all of that out the way…

  • Your signup is complete, congrats! So when will you receive shifts?
Currently, your profile is "Pending". We've sent your info off to our admin team and if we have everything, they'll set you to active and you'll start receiving shifts! When that happens there is one last important bit of info we need so we can send you payments for your hard work, your bank account! When you close this message you'll find yourself on the settings page where you can edit your details and profile. We don't need it until you've completed your first shift so be sure to add it by then (we’ll send you an email to remind you if you forget)! Note: you won't be able to add it until your profile is active.
